Julia Edmonds offers Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM at both of her acupuncture clinics in Edinburgh and East Linton. She started to study Five Element Acupuncture in in 1995 having received acupuncture herself and went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine as a post graduate . Julia had already received training as a massage therapist gaining a qualification from ITEC in 1993, this gave her an introduction to Complimentary Healthcare.
Julia gained her License to practice Acupuncture in March 1998 from the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa. This is a recognized degree level course and allows Julia to use Lic. Ac. (Licensed Acupuncture Practitioner) after name. This course gave Julia a grounding in Five Element acupuncture , click on the following Five Element link to find out more. She subsequently became a Member of the British Acupuncture council and went on to do four further years post graduate study at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine at Reading. Julia feels that by studying both Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, as an Acupuncture Practitioner, she can offer a complete range of treatments to suit the individual. Julia continues to undertake courses as part of her continuous professional development and has taken many courses including:acupuncture and pregnancy; acupuncture for back pain; acupuncture for knee pain: acupuncture and fertility problems; acupuncture and anxiety; acupuncture for pain; muscular and skeletal disorders; acupuncture for arthritis; acupuncture to stop smoking; acupuncture for weight issues; acupuncture for anxiety and depression and many more emotional and physical conditions. Julia is required to submit her her Continued Professional Development programme to the British Acupuncture Council every year.

Julia was Regional Representative for the British Acupuncture Council in Edinburgh and East Lothian until 2013.
Julia’s first degree was in Communication Studies from Coventry University in 1983. She also worked with the Citizens Advice Bureau advising people with debt and mortgage problems and Birmingham City Council in the Anti Poverty Unit Providing Court Representation for people undergoing mortgage repossession. Learning Acupuncture was a complete departure!

Carol studied at The Northern College of Acupuncture in York. She graduated in 2016 with a First Class BA(Hons) in Acupuncture. She has also studied Auricular Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture and Acupuncture for Muscular Skeletal Disorders. Julia and Carol are Members of The British Acupuncture Council. It is recommended that anyone seeking acupuncture should ensure that the acupuncture practitioner has full membership. Members of the British Acupuncture Council are required to complete at least three years study to degree standard at a recognized college. the British Acupuncture Council maintains common standards of education, ethics, discipline and practice to ensure the health and safety of the public at all times. Members are covered by Medical Malpractice and Public Liability insurance.
